Office closed for the day. Off to the Moiry dam, at the head of the Val d’Anniviers, at 2,249 metres. No meeting room, no agenda: a day outdoors, the whole team together.
You walk along the crest, you look at the lake and the peaks around it, and you take the measure of what people are capable of building to last.
Then the alpine pasture and the herd of Hérens cattle, a Valais skill handed down over generations.
A breed from here, a way of handling a herd that is written in no manual, and people who keep doing it because it matters to them.

In the afternoon we talked about what comes next: the projects ahead, what we want to build over the coming years, and how each of us sees their place in it.
It was not a seminar. It was a table, time ahead of us, and the questions you never get to ask between two site deadlines. Everyone said where they saw themselves, what they wanted to do more of, and what they wanted to do differently.
Very good ideas came out of that table, and the collective appetite was there, plain and clear.
